The Nissan Juke...The Car which is the very definition of Disciplined Insanty

Now a few months ago I travelled to Austria for the long easter weekend to visit some friends. This required me to rent a car to drive out to where they had rented a house. A good two hour drive out side of Vienna, having just spent a few days of Holiday in the South of France for some April sun as one does. I looked at the weather forecast...Snow and heavy Blizzards and decided to choose an SUV, the Nissan Juke seemed a decent bet and was a good price.  Having of course seen the advert (commercial for our American cousins) on television and other media for the car. Not going to lie I thought it was rather MAD...and not the prettiest car but I thought why not, and I am very happy I did, you will find out why now...lets begin. The Looks Now when you look at this car more closely it does something to the little kid inside of you...the looks and general external design are MAD, no thought whatsoever has been paid to aerodynamics. This is actually a good thing, it looks lik

Umbrellas....the bane of the tall man

Now you might be asking yourself, how can anyone hate or have the same loathing of umbrella's as I am about to demonstrate. They are just mere inanimate objects, objects that have a purpose of keeping the rain off of our heads and hair dry. Also they keep our perfectly made up faces and styled hair safe from the elements. Umbrellas make for a great walking stick that when wearing a suit and overcoat during winter they make a quintessential fashion accessory, a good one is a great walking stick. They are also great for being chivalrous gentleman and using it as a sneaky tool make out in the rain whilst walking a girl home following after dinner drinks. Then there is the time you have had boozy lunch or dinner and it starts to rain, and you instantly think you're Gene Kelly and you reenact that scene from "Singin' in the Rain". For these reasons I have no qualms with them at all in fact I my self have used them for most of the above reason and the latter two exam

A service so terrible it was hilarious

So for many of if you have read this blog in the past, you will know that I am not religious at all having left the Christian faith at the age of seventeen. But I do go with my family to Church when I am with them on Christmas and at Easter...it was at the later of these celebrations of the Christian faith where I was inspired to write this latest entry. Now perhaps I should give more to this story, as it was in a Church of England (CofE) service the during perhaps the most important service on their calendar. Their services tend be rather joyful with a somewhat energetic priest in the pulpit, lots of fun hymns to sing and also tend to be very child friendly. Remember this is not a Catholic Church service, so the idea of being "Child Friendly" does not mean anything untoward, in the Catholic Church being child friendly tends to mean a law suit. The CofE hasn't to my knowledge payed out a fortune on child molestation settlements nor can they afford what their counter par

Trying to answer a question on WHY?

Over the years there has been one question that many people always ask when it is reported in the news or elsewhere, that someone has decided to take their own life. The first reaction is typically, oh my god why did they do that? Just like when Robin Williams very sadly took his own life a few years ago, many people around the world were asking this question...WHY? Whilst some were asking the question why would someone do that? and others were trying to analyse why someone would do that...I on the other hand understood why. If you have never considered committing this final act then it would be difficult to to see let alone understand, why someone would even think of it. Sometimes its just life in one shape or another becomes too much to bear and you start to think too much into things. You start to think and you see that perhaps all that has happened to you is due to your own actions...what you did, didn't do and things you wish you could relive. It can be as simple as wher

Erdoweirdo....the first sign of a world gone mad is an insane leader

Just when you thought that the world couldn't get even stranger at all, a few years ago George W. Bush (Jr or Snr take your pick), Dick Cheney, Mr and Mrs Blair and John Prescott led the list of world leaders who you would have thought would have been dropped on their heads at birth, and some of which would make you think; " Thats a face only a mother could love " or " My Gosh they have a face fit for radio". Yet today we have an even greater collection of weirdness to choose from, this list is so large I need to in fact put in a proper bulleted list. I might add that those in this list, make those in the one above seem not only to be attractive but also highly intelligent.... Jeremy Corbyn Donald J. Trump Sadik Kahn  Nigel Farage  Recep Tayyip Erdogan Bernie Sanders Ted Cruz François Hollande Benjamin Netanyahu Now perhaps notable exemption from this list is Vladimir Putin, he is the only one to have succeeded and in a country that is as diffi

Linkedin...is anyone else finding it useful but annoying?

Yes...believe it or not this Gentleman Traveller is also on Linkedin...and no I will not tell you what I go under on this network.  What might you ask has brought Linkedin under my scope of criticism now? This would be a good question, its not the network itself it is however the people on it...YES you lot. Now what I dislike intently is the utter rudeness of some people on this platform. I can't tell you how many connection requests I get from people whom I have never met, nor whom don't even have the common courtesy as to message me introducing themselves.  Honestly, what has the world come to when people think; " Oh he / she and I went to the same school, University etc etc whatever I will add them" . These people, (and if you are one them YOU) need to stop doing this and take TWO seconds to stop and think to themselves the following;  "Did I ever speak to this person? Do I even know this person? Was I even at said school or Uni with them at the same ti

Saying goodbye is never easy even if it is for the "Right" reasons

So Ladies and Gentlemen, in case you were not aware this Gentleman Traveller was recently involved with a very special someone. Yes for the first time in over a decade this Gentleman Traveller became involved in a relationship of sorts. Until recently that is....which was no fault of my own or of hers, this was without a doubt the strangest break up you could imagine, because the very next day we were watching a movie together in my apartment eating Pizza and Haagen Dazs. Yes the things you do when you have broken up but not typically with the person you have broken up from...I would agree but it was nice I have to admit. Now 2 weeks on I have to quote Byran Adams in is song "When You're Gone": "Baby when you're gone I realise I am in love, things just feel so wrong baby when you're gone" The old saying of you don't know what you've got until its gone rings true here, however the only difference is that she is not gone, she is just no lo
